Sławomir Chrystow

Varna 1976

Between 1992 and 1995, Chrystow studied under Yavor Tsanev, a Bulgarian painter and graphic artist, and from 1996 to 2001 at the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. He completed his studies in the woodcut studio of Prof. Zbigniew Lutomsky. He has participated in numerous group exhibitions at home and abroad.

An artist open to the world of symbols and myths, he works not only in graphic arts but also in paintings, often using traditional techniques such as egg tempera, watercolor, and gouache. In his work, he draws upon archetypes and symbols deeply rooted in our collective imagination, combining influences from multiple eras and cultures. Fascinated by, among others, Italian Quattrocento and the painting of the Mughal Empire in India, he creates his own distinctive world that draws equally on the artistic traditions of both East and West.
