Maciej Gorczyński

Painter, Conceptual Artist, representative of Polish neo-expressionism

Untitled, 1991 – Mixed media, oil on canvas, mounted 140 x 250 cm

In my realizations I deal with problems of the sense of creation, which I seek in the essence of human personalities, contemplating evil and goodness, barbarism and culture: meanness, morality, envy, betrayal, greed, stupidity, etc., as well as the second part of human nature, e.g. holiness, Knowledge, life wisdom, seeing in all this a source that gives causative power. Maybe you can’t see it in my projects at first glance, but at second you can see it. I don’t like to call myself an Artist, and it’s just such a pose – deep down, I am just like the others. I am currently working on a new project that I want to treat as an exploration and exhibition activity – presenting my way of thinking about contemporary Art – and implement it in the form of an artistic travel around various European cities under the name Pływająca galeria ART WARRIOR na jachcie Liberty (Floating ART WARRIOR gallery on the Liberty yacht).
