The artist initially studied at the École Nationale Supérieure de Design in Paris and then spent a year at the École des Beaux Arts in the drawing and sculpture departments.
After initially focusing primarily on the technical requirements of bronze casting and following her teachers’ stylistic principles, Charlotte de Friasse quickly broke away from academic canon to develop her own artistic universe, focusing on interpersonal relationships in her art. Through a sleek and dynamic style, she was able to clearly depict the desired postures and strides.
Individual characters rarely stand in isolation: couples and families are her main themes, which she translates into a contemporary aesthetic, as well as the search for happiness, beauty, harmony, and consent. To achieve this, she uses a mixed technique that combines the noble qualities of bronze with those of iron and resin.
